She completed her Dietetic Internship through the University of Houston. In addition to working at Valeria Mallett Nutrition, she also works as a clinical dietitian for a local hospital system, providing medical nutrition therapy to patients with a variety of health conditions. She is a member of the diabetes practice group of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and is in the process of becoming a certified diabetes educator.
Leanne absolutely loves being a dietitian. She’s had the pleasure of working with thousands of different patients, ranging from newly diagnosed to those dealing with life-long health issues. She understands that each of us has a unique story and approach to managing our health, and wants to work side by side to set and maintain goals. Leanne is a compassionate listener who strives to create a positive and encouraging environment where patients feel safe expressing their goals, motivations and barriers. As different as we all are, she believes that each of us has the ability to make positive health changes, big or small.
Leanne loves being outdoors. In her free time, you can find her hiking, camping or biking with her husband and son. Her creative outlets are sewing and trying to make fancy food on a tight budget. Her personal nutrition goals include eating more plant-based meals and devoting more time to menu planning.
